26, 1999, at Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, SC. Born Dec. 6, 1934, in Kershaw, SC, she was daughter of Idell Mungo Mickle and the late David Mickle. She was employed by Wachovia Bank, Charlotte, NC. Funeral be 3 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at Sand Hill Baptist Church, Kershaw, SC, with the Rev. Lonnie Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Born September 15, 1986 in Mecklenburg County, she was a student at Hawthorne Middie School; cheerleader and basketball participant for, The Methodist Home Recreation Center; Brownie and Girl Scout. Blanche Yandell Haughton, 95, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, January 27, 1999 at Wesley Care Center. Mrs. Haughton was born November 9, 1903 in Charlotte, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Lawrence Sadler Yandell and Bettie Hawkins Yandell. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte Country Club and member of D.A.R. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs.

Haughton will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 29, 1999 from the sanctuary of Christ Episcopal Church, 1412 Providence Road, with The Reverend Dr. Fred Paschall officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in The Blue Room. Burial will be private. Mrs.

Haughton is survived by two sons, Alexander A. Haughton, Jr. and his wife, Polly K. Haughton, Gerald Lawrence Haughton; two daughters, Bettie H. McLaughlin and her husband, Robert Theodore McLaughlin and Patricia H.

McAlister and her husband, John Worth McAlister, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Helen Newland and brother, Luther Yandell, all of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Haughton was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Andrews Haughton, Sr. in 1988.

Ms. Helen Henderson, 58, of 712 East 15th Street, died January 27, 1999 at Carolinas Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home. Audrey Leigh Anna Johnson, 72, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, January 19, 1999 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Islip, New York. Mrs.

Johnson was born June 6, 1926 in Portsmouth, Virginia late Isaac and Virginia Faltz. After completing four years of college at Hampton University, she moved to New York City where she met and married Benjamin Johnson. In February 1963 she became a member of the Rochdale Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was employed by the City of New York in the Juvenile Justice Court System before leaving on disability. In June 1990 Mrs.

Johnson moved to Charlotte to be close to her daughter Benita Shackelford. there she became a member of the Providence Park Congregations the newly Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter Benita and her son-in-law Daniel Shackelford; her sons Benjamin and Timothy Johnson; her sister, Beatrice Spratt; her four grandchildren, Darren and Geoffrey Shackelford, Jovanz Johnson, and Imani Johnson; and one great-grandson, Jaylen Shackelford. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 30 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 6200 Wilgrove-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC.

Marie Helms Lamb, 86, formerly of Charlotte, died January 28, 1999, in Morganton. born in Mecklenburg County on July 12, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Columbus Augustus Helms, Sr. and Nettie Allen helms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. "Bill" Lamb; a son, Raymond Henry Lamb; and 2 brothers, C.A.

Helms, Jr. and Wade Helms. She was a former member of New Covenant A.R.P. Church, Charlotte. Survivors are 2 sons, Jimmy Lamb, Harrisburg, NC, and Murray Lamb, Statesville, NC; 2 daughters, Jean Grimes, Charlotte, and Louise Baker, Morganton; a sister, Mildred Foster, Virginia Beach, VA; 8 grandchildren; and 9 -grandchildren.

Gabriel, 51, of Mrs. Grace Jones Cruse, 90, of Charlotte died Wednesday, January 27, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital. Born April 24, 1908 in Guilford County, NC, Mrs. Cruse was a daughter of the late J. Rufus Jones and Caroline Hassell Jones and has lived in Charlotte since childhood.

She was a member of Thomasboro Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Cruse is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and is survived by two daughters, Sara Thompson and her husband, Bob, of Charlotte, and Jean Cruse Propes and her husband, Randy, of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Perry A. Jones of Charlotte; six grandchildren; and eleven greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Lee Cruse.

Bliss Hafey, 83, of Charlotte died Wednesday, January 27, 1999, at his residence. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, at United Methodist Church with Reverend Rick Auten and the Rev. Jimmy Howard officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from this evening at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel. Mr. Hafey was born December 16, 1915 in Duval, Ohio. He was founder of Hafey Oil Company in Charlotte and a veteran of the US Army, serving during WW Il. He was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also the West Gate Masonic Lodge in Columbus, Ohio, and the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley P. Hafey; children, Richard B. Juanita Setzer Lanham, 76, of Charlotte, died January 26, 1999 at Presbyterian Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 1999 at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel, with the Reverend Sammie Case officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Lanham was born 7, 1922 in Charlotte, the daughter of Patrick Cook and Nellie Webb. She was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church and was a retired florist. Mrs.

Lanham was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. "Her memory will live in our hearts, always." The family will receive friends 10 a.m. 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Mrs. Geraldine Robinson Taylor was a native of Arlington, Alabama.

She was the daughter of the late Joe Lloyd and Addie L. Robinson and married to the late Willie Taylor. Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church She matriculated at Stillman College, Tuscaloosa, where she received a Masters of Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Mrs.

Taylor retired as a Guidance Counselor at Olympic High School in 1990, where she was the chairperson of the department. Previously, she had taught many years in the and, Junior High Schools Public Elementary, School System and the Stanley County School System, Norwood, NC. Mrs. Taylor was instrumental in organizing and serving as the first director of Christian Education at South Tryon Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC. She was a member of the Beta' Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, affiliated with the National Education Association, North Carolina Personnel and Guidance Association the National Council of Negro Women and appointed to the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging, June, 1991.

Survivors include son, Edward B. Taylor of Charlotte; daughters, Ms. Willette T. Robinson of Charlotte, Miss Camille J. Taylor of Greensboro and Mrs.

Twanna T. Henderson of Charlotte; brothers, Leroy Robinson of Cleveland and Reuben Robinson of Arcadia, Florida; sisters, Mrs. Mary Hunter of Arlington, Alabama, Mrs. Beatrice Bizzell and Ms. Ruth Fortner, both of Cleveland, Mrs.

"Uncle Buddy" 84 of 11647 Rozzelles Ferry Road died Wednesday, January 27, 1999 at The Wesley Care Center. She was born in Mecklenburg County, the daughter of the late Earl Rozzelle, Sr. and Pricie Freeman Rozzelle. was retired from American Efird Mills, Inc. and was a member of Cook's Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one sister, Anna Rozzelle Moseley of Landis, NC; sister-in-law, Mary G. Rozzelle of Charlotte; two nieces and five nephews including Jerry Sifford of the home; two great nieces and one great nephew. Mrs. Hazel S. Mallet-Boyette, 80, of Charlotte, NC, died on Thurs- day, January 28, 1999, at her home after a short illness. Mrs. Mallet-Boyette was born February 7, 1918, in Manilla, lowa, a daughter of the late William Howard Saunders and Beulah Jordan Saunders, and grew up in Redfield, South Dakota.

She traveled to Washington, DC, and was, employed by the Department Navy during World War II. After attending the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas, she began working for the Small Business Administration and retired from there after 25 years of service. Mrs. Mallet-Boyette was an advocate for women's rights and was the first woman employed by the SBA to achieve the position of Executive Loan Administrator. She assisted with the development of the Service Core of Retired Executives who serve as advisors to small business.

She was an educational coordinator for Duke University, Wake Forest University, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Charlotte, Queens College and Central Piedmont Community College. A member of Kilgo United Methodist Church, Mrs. Mallet enjoyed traveling to 48 states and was an avid reader until her health declined. Mrs. Mallet-Boyette is survived by her daughters, Marcia M.

Mallet, and Judy M. Todd, and her husband, John Todd; her son, Maurice A. Mallet, and his wife Frances Mallet, all of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Katherine Todd Jackson, Sturdivant Todd, and Jonathan Mallet; and two great grandchildren, Adam and Trevor Jackson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph P. Mallet, in 1969, and by her second husband, A.W.

Mr. Stanley Tulman, 74, of Charlotte died Thursday, January 28, 1999. Mr.

Tulman was born in Brooklyn, NY and served in the Pacific with the U.S. Navy on the USS Nehenta Bay, an Escort Carrier during WWII. Mr. Tulman was employed as a sales representative by A. Milder's Sons in Winston-Salem.

He joined State Furniture Stores in North' Carolina as Vice President and then Industrial Metals Alloy Co. as Vice President Chief Operating Officer. and, 1983, he moved to Charlotte to establish a solder division for Willard Industries. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner for over 50 years, a member of B'nai B'rith and Temple Israel where he was a member of the Men's Club. He was a committee member of the Charlotte Yiddish Institute, a life associate of Hadassah, Past President of the Senior Scholars of Charlotte and received awards for his work with Jewish Federation in Winston-Salem and Charlotte.

He was also an avid golfer and bridge player. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Elkie; 2 sons, Daniel J. Tulman and his wife, Melissa, of Atlanta, GA, and Joseph B. Tulman and wife, Deborah Greenfield, of Washington, DC; a daughter, Deborah Telem and her husband, Peter, of Baltimore, MD; 7 grandchildren, Adee, Michal, Seth, David, Elan, Michael, Benjamin; and sister, Rita Sabel of Tempe, AZ and her daughters, Helene and Amy and niece, Ronnie Wasserman Schwartz and her husband, Lester and their daughters, Jan and Sara, all of Nanuet, NY. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Tulman Wasserman.
