Celebrity Race Across the World's Freddy Brazier and his Strictly star brother Bobby had suffered early heartache when their mum Jade Goody died.
Big Brother star Goody died aged 27 of cervical cancer in 2009, leaving behind her two young sons who at the time were just five and four years old. Her ex and their dad Jeff Brazier faced many challenges while bringing up the boys on his own.
The spotlight is shining brightly on young Freddy now as he has already become a fan favourite on Celebrity Race Across the World while competing on the tough BBC reality show with his dad. The anniversary of Goody's death is on Mother's Day, so this year the father and son duo were filming Celebrity Race Across the World.
We take a look at what Freddy and Bobby have said about losing their mum, as well as how Jeff has raised them and how he is now guiding their careers in the spotlight...
Freddy Brazier
As Freddy stepped into the limelight on Celebrity Race Across the World, he has laid his heart on the line while talking about losing his mum. The TV star choked back the tears while he discussed having "no memories" of their time together as he was only four years old.
He said: "I lost my mum when I was four and that was on Mother's Day, which is really hard. I don't really like showing my emotions. I don't even speak to my dad much about my mum either. I just avoid it. I prefer to bottle it up.
"I don't want to feel like I'm a burden to them. A lot of my memories that I have of my mum have come from watching a documentary, YouTube clips, newspapers, they are not my memories."
He added: "I don't really remember being held by my mum. If I had more memories of her, it would have made it a whole lot harder for me. But I think I would rather that than not really remember the things that I had done with my mum. It's just life really and I've kind of accepted that."

Earlier in Celebrity Race Across the World, Freddy shared a sweet moment with Jeff. The youngster said he doesn't praise his dad enough for everything he has done for him and for his brother Bobby while growing up.
He told the cameras: "At the time I lost my mum, dad had to push his feelings and all of that aside to be there for me and my brother. At times where I've pushed him away, he's pulled even harder to bring me back in. I have not been that close with him for a long time now.
"But I actually quite love being around him. I don't think I praise my dad enough or thank my dad enough for everything he's done for me. I should, he knows the love. But I don't tell him enough."

Jeff Brazier
Doing Celebrity Race Across the World with his youngest son, Jeff also addressed the challenges he faced in losing the mum of his sons. The devoted dad said he focussed all his efforts on his children after they lost their mum.
He said: "Independence for Fred is the name of the game, really. I think when the boys lost their mum, I really doubled down on putting all of my time, effort, attention, focus on my children. I needed to be there helping them navigate whatever the future was going to look like for them given their loss. I'm still playing that role.
"But the more Fred does for himself, I know that he can start to push on in life... I really hope this sends him home with a fresh belief in himself and what he can do and what he should try."
Off camera, Jeff revealed that filming on Mother's Day - the anniversary of Goody's death - was always going to be a "difficult day" for them. "That was always going to be a difficult day," he told The Metro. "But we really went out of our way to find a beautiful sunset. Freddy felt a bit uncomfortable so we got in the sea and we just swam. The waves were really big and it was really cool. We just played and it was a really important, significant moment for us."

Bobby Brazier
Already Goody's eldest son Bobby followed his famous parents into the spotlight last year with competing on Strictly Come Dancing and his acting role on BBC soap EastEnders. As he stepped into the limelight, Bobby spoke about his mum's death.
One very special moment on Strictly saw Bobby dedicate his dance to This Woman's Work by Maxwell to his late mum. Before performing, Bobby told everyone: "This dance isn't just for my family, this dance is a tribute to my mum."
While on Strictly, Bobby said his earliest memory was thinking his mum was a "superhero". "I'd love to spend the day with her, just to see where I get my smile from," he told the cameras last year while competing on the BBC show.
Bobby was just five years old when he lost his mum so he said he has got to know her through those who loved her, including her closest friends. He told The Times: "I'm always being told about her and what she meant to people. I guess I know my mum through other people's memories of my mum."
The EastEnders actor said what hurts the most was losing someone who was so loved and he misses what their relationship could have been. He told The Face in 2022: "I miss what could’ve been. I hear all the time she was such a presence, that she was one of a kind. What hurts most is that it wasn’t just losing anyone, it was losing Jade."
Celebrity Race Across The World airs on BBC One at 9pm on Wednesday.
